Your Consultation

Initial Consultation

Your initial appointment will last approximately 40- 50  minutes and will include a discussion about symptoms, understanding of your hormonal issues, an examination if required and formation of a tailored treatment plan. Prescriptions will be issued at the time if appropriate. Discussions regarding surgical procedures will be given and codes provided for your medical insurance company if insured or quotations will be organised if you are self-funding.

Other tests such as an ultrasound scan or blood tests may be advised if required, either at that appointment or with the NHS if indicated.

Following your consultation, Miss Whitcroft will issue a medical report with findings and recommendations as well as further prescriptions as required.

First Review Appointment

This is usually a telephone consultation to discuss how you are getting on and follow up on your symptoms. This is usually done 6-8 weeks after your initial consultation.

This will include a further medical report, any recommendations and changes and further prescriptions.

Annual Review Appointment

This is a further long appointment and occurs one year after your initial consultation and every year subsequently if ongoing care and prescriptions are required; medico-legally further prescriptions cannot be issued unless Miss Whitcroft has had this review appointment.

Please note that annual review appointments are generally not covered by insurance companies so please check prior to your appointment.

Queries

If you require a short appointment or telephone consultation to discuss any issues, please contact us to book this. Smaller queries can be dealt with via the medical secretary without the requirement of booking a telephone consultation.

Payment

Following your appointment, an invoice will be emailed to you which is payable within 5 days.

Please note that Miss Whitcroft does not accept private medical insurance for any hormonal or menopausal appointments but does accept insurance for gynaecological issues.

Prescriptions

Miss Whitcroft can prescribe repeat prescriptions as required. To request any medications, please contact us at secretary@sijwpractice.co.uk
